The count’s village of Castelló d’Empúries still preserves ancient vestiges of its medieval capitality. The narrow streets, the walls, the church… all of them distinguish this town which has always known how to adapt to the pass of time.
Every September 11th the town travels backwards in history to recall the Medieval Age and celebrates the Terra de Trobadors – Minstrel’s Land – festival.
Emporda Marshes National Park is well known because of the huge amount of birds – almost 330 species. Its landscape, fauna and flora make it one of the most important natural spaces of the Mediterranean Sea.
